Protection of student fees

•    Students pay an application fee (non-refundable) and course fees (refundable as detailed below).
•    Course fees are paid initially into a trust fund. After a student has completed study, the course fees proportionate to that study are used in the organisation’s day-to-day transacts. This ensures that, in the unlikely event that difficulties are experienced in providing the programme; the money is available to provide full refunds for any uncompleted parts of the programme.

Refunds, cancellation, deferral and withdrawal

•    Should the organisation be unable to deliver the course as advertised, where possible the student will be given the option of transferring remaining course fees to another course. If this cannot be provided or the student chooses against this option, a full refund will be given for the part of the course the organisation is unable to deliver.
•    Cancellation, deferral, withdrawal and refund applications should be made on a Cancellation, Deferral, Withdrawal and Refund Application Form which is available at the administration office.
•    If you withdraw from your course (either before or during the course), refunds will be available as follows (‘withdrawal’ means the day Gnortop  receives notification in writing that you would like to withdraw):
o    Withdrawal more than 30 days before the course is due to begin: full refund of course fees paid
o    Withdrawal between 30 and 7 days (inclusive): 50% of course fees for the course
o    Withdrawal less than 7 days before the course begins: no refund of course fees
Exceptions may occur where compassionate circumstances apply—see below.
•    Compassionate circumstances: in circumstances such as serious illness or serious family hardship, the student will be offered a place on a future course and course fees transferred as appropriate. Should this not be possible, a full refund of any course fees for part of the course not taken may be offered, at the Principal’s discretion.
•    Course fees are transferable to another person only upon agreement with Gnortop and Associates
•    The application fee for printing of certificates is non-refundable.
•    Decisions about refunds, and refund payments, will be completed within five working days, with a written explanation provided to the student.
•    Any appeals related to refunds and fees will be dealt with in accordance with the complaints and appeals policy, which includes contact details of external bodies to which appeals can be made.
This agreement, and the availability of complaints and appeals procedures, does not remove your right to take action under Australia’s consumer protection laws. The college’s dispute resolution processes do not circumscribe the student’s right to pursue other legal remedies.
